A new film set in Alexis Ralaivao‘s studio in Rennes, France, offers viewers a glimpse into the development of a new suite of oil paintings, rendered by the artist entirely in black and white. Directed by Thomas Gerard, the film alludes to several of Ralaivao’s influences – directors Alfred Hitchcock, Henri-Georges Clouzot, and the short films of Man Ray.
